National Mathematics Day Celebration

To commemorate the great contributions of India’s mathematical genius S. Ramanujam, P P Savani Cambridge International School celebrated National Mathematics Day on December 22, on his birth anniversary.

The programme started with a speech delivered by master Gulaam Motala of Grade X describing how a middle class boy who had almost no formal training in pure Mathematics made substantial contributions to mathematical analysis.

This was followed by a colourful parade in which the students of the Primary section came on stage dressed up as various geometrical shapes and explained the properties of each with examples.

The students then participated with zeal and zest in the ‘Kaun Banega Mathematician’ Inter House Quiz Competition organized separately for both juniors and seniors to mark the occasion. The Kohinoor house won the keenly contested Junior & Senior level competition. The event concluded with the principal’s message in which she congratulated the winners on their performance and the organizers for arranging such a wonderful tribute to the greatest mathematician of the country.
