The annual chess competition of P P Savani Cambridge International School was held on 12th August, 2025 in the school sports room, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across various grades.
The event featured separate categories for boys and girls, with matches conducted in a competitive yet sportsmanlike spirit. For the boys, there were three groups: Grades 5–6, Grades 7–8, and Grades 9–12. Matches in all boys’ groups followed the single-elimination format, making each game decisive and intense. The senior boys’ category (Grades 9–12) saw particularly close contests, with Millennium House emerging as the champions after a series of sharp and strategic games. Hope House secured the second position, while Sancy House claimed third place.
For the girls, there were two groups: Grades 5–8 and Grades 9–12. Their matches were played in a double-elimination format, giving participants a second chance to prove their skills. The senior girls’ category (Grades 9–12) witnessed high-quality play and remarkable composure. In a thrilling final, Sancy House took the championship title, while Kohinoor House finished as the runners-up.
Throughout the event, the sports room buzzed with concentration and excitement as students carefully planned each move, cheered on by their housemates. Teachers commended the players for their discipline, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship.
The competition not only exhibited the chess talent within the school but also highlighted the importance of patience, foresight, and fair play.
