Report on Toran making and Matki Decoration
“The Greatness of the culture can be found in its festivals”
Decorating the home during festivals is a very important part of Indian traditions. To emphasise this "Toran Making Competition” for primary students and "Matki Decoration Competition” for secondary students was conducted.
Toran at the main entrance of our house is not only a decorative piece but it displays the warm and affectionate hearts of the residents. To welcome the Goddess Laxmi during this auspicious occasion of Diwali, our primary students participated in Toran making competition and made Torans using various items like craft papers, pearls, beads, flowers, cloth, wool, etc. While the primary students were engrossed in making beautiful torans, our secondary students decorated the matkis with readymade decorative stuff and flowers. Few matkis were hand painted by the students. The outcomes of all hard work done by the students were really appreciable. Such competitions also encourage students to adapt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills.
