The students of Grades VI-XII had a pre-Diwali bash with a wonderful and exciting trip planned to the Lesser Himalayas straight in the lap of nature. With the help of the NEVI group a delightful and adventurous trip was planned for the students of Grade VI-XII to Nainital and Pangot.
The students boarded the train towards Delhi on the 19th of October. It was a wonderful sight to behold as all were super excited about the trip and chattered away their plans for the week. We reached Pangot at midnight on 20th October and camped at Mehi Nature resort in their beautiful tents. It was an incredible experience to sleep in the tents in the freezing cold.
The next two days at Mehi resort were full of fun as students embarked on various adventure activities like Burma Bridge Crossing, Commando net climbing and Zip Lining. The cherry on cake was the rappelling activity which all the students had attempted for the first time. To add to it, students were divided into groups and asked to gather wood, light fire and cook maggi for their team. This activity sent students into a frenzy of excitement as this was something that they had never done before.
After spending two days at Mehi, students were then moved to Nainital at The Fair Lights Trail. They enjoyed trekking through the narrow routes of the Lesser Himalayas and enjoyed the sights from China Peak and Snow View Point.
The flavour of Navratri was not lost at all as the learners played garba on ‘Ashtami’ around the bonfire. The last day was allocated to shopping at Mall Road. Everyone got busy purchasing clothes and trinkets for their loved ones. As it was Dussehra we also got to view beautiful processions by various schools on different themes. It was a wonderful sight to behold.
The tour ended on 25th October 2023 as we reached Surat station at 7:15 pm. The platform was flooded with eager parents waiting to welcome their children.
