REPORT ON TEACHERS’ TRAINING WORKSHOP
A teachers’ training workshop was conducted at Riverside International school, Ahmedabad on fifteenth and sixteenth of July 2024. The teachers’ training workshop was attended by most of the teachers of P.P. Savani Cambridge International School, Surat under the leadership and guidance of our principal, MS Anjali Varma, Coordinator, Ms Roopa Shridhar Narayan and our Trustees, Ms. Jhanvi Savani and Mr. Meet Savani.
Teacher learning is a continuous process that promotes teachers’ teaching skills, master new knowledge, develop new proficiency, which in turn initiates the process of achieving an all-round holistic development of students.
An interactive and impactful workshop to introduce effective teaching techniques was conducted by experienced and senior academicians of Riverside International School, Ahmedabad. The trainers talked about various teaching techniques to make the teaching learning process more interesting and effective. They threw spotlight on the importance of child friendly techniques. Queries and challenges faced by the teachers were addressed and novel ideas for teaching were shared.
Moreover, the teaching methodologies based on ‘5E concepts-Empathy, Ethics, Excellence, Elevation and Evolution were discussed and linked to the subjects that are taught in the classroom. The teachers were also guided to ensure optimal level of utilization of the content available in the lesson plan modules on one hand and on the other, were also taught the essence of micro-planning and designing of lesson plans on the other with the sole objective of fostering the achievement of maximum output in sync with the learning objectives as mentioned in the lesson plans.
Furthermore, a new paradigm was initiated in the teachers’ learning process whereby the teachers were shown ways and means to recognize various myriad aspects of multiple intelligence through a customized initiative referred as ‘I can challenges’ on one hand and on the other maintenance of positive mindset and motivational level to have an ever-lasting impact in the classroom.
Apart from this, ample teaching techniques to involve students were discussed at length on one hand along with a plethora of versatile strategies and teaching approaches on the other.
The two-day training workshop was quite insightful on one hand and on the other taught us the essence of paradigm shift of our roles from being teachers to facilitators to ensure all-round holistic development of students in order to initiate the process of guiding them to become “HUMANE CITIZENS’.
