Chess Competition at PPSCIS
The annual school chess competition, held on July 19, 2024, was a grand showcase of strategic acumen and mental agility. The event, organized by the school’s Chess Club under the supervision of the sports in charge, was divided into three categories: Juniors, Seniors, and Girls. This structure ensures a fair and inclusive platform for all participants.
Junior Category:
The junior category featured students from grades 6 to 8. The competition began at 10:00 AM, with 16 eager participants ready to demonstrate their skills. The matches were held in a knockout format, and the young players displayed impressive strategic thinking and determination. After several rounds of intense play, the final match saw Pratham Ambaliyala from Grade 7 emerge victorious over Pujan Vadodariya from the same Grade
Senior Category:
The senior category included students from grades 9 to 11, with 16 participants competing. The matches were highly competitive, reflecting the advanced skills of the senior students. The semi-finals and finals were particularly gripping, drawing significant attention from the audience. In the final showdown, Jihan Mungara from Grade 11 secured the title of senior champion by defeating Druv Vaghela from the same Grade.
Girls’ Category:
The girls’ category aimed to encourage and celebrate female participation in chess. Ten talented girls from various grades competed with great enthusiasm. The competition was fierce, with each match highlighting the strategic prowess of the participants. In the end, Gopi Ambaliyala from Grade 11 emerged as the girls’ champion, triumphing over Pari Khunt.
