Disney to the Rescue
P. Savani Cambridge Internation School, Abrama, Surat conducted The Grand Annual Function with the theme “Disney to the Rescue”. It was organised in The Sardar Smruti Bhavan. The afternoon began with a captivating introduction by the anchors, who set the stage for the journey ahead. This was followed by the traditional Lamp Lighting ceremony led by our esteemed dignitaries, symbolizing the light of knowledge.
Following the invocation, our Principal, Ms. Anjali Verma, felicitated the guests of honor. The ceremony also took a moment to recognize excellence within the staff, with Prize Distribution for teachers who demonstrated exceptional dedication throughout the year, as well as a special appreciation for our hardworking Pre-primary educators.
The formal session concluded with the Annual Report presented by the Principal Ms. Anjali Verma. Her speech highlighted the school’s achievements throughout the year.
The “Disney Warriors” theme was brought to life through a seamless blend of dance and drama, depicting the battle against pollution.
- The Grand Opening: The performance started with an energetic Circus Dance featuring Nursery students, joined by students from Grades 7 to 10. This vibrant act introduced the audience to our Disney characters.
- Junior Joy: Junior KG students delighted the crowd with a spirited performance to the popular track “Bum Bum Bole,” celebrating the innocence of nature.
- The Blue Ocean Under Threat: The scene shifted to the underwater world. Grade 4 students performed a graceful Fish Dance, followed by Grade 3 students as Mermaids. However, the beauty was interrupted by Grade 2 students portraying Plastic Pollutants, illustrating the damage done to our oceans. Grade 1 students added to the narrative with a performance to “Tai Tai Fish,” highlighting the struggle of marine life.
- The Forest Defenders: The narrative moved to a forest in danger. Senior KG and Grade 5 students performed a high-energy routine inspired by the character “Pushpa,” portraying the strength of the woods. This was followed by a dramatic entry of the “Bhediya” (Wolf) and his pack, performed by Grade 6 students, who stood as guardians of the wild.
- The Frozen Warning: In a chilling turn, Elsa appeared to speak about the realities of Global Warming. This transition led into a poignant contemporary dance by Grades 7 to 10 to the song “Bezubaan,” expressing the silent plea of nature.
- A Call to Action: The message was further solidified by a powerful Nukkad Natak (Street Play), which used satire and drama to expose the hazards of plastic and pollution.
The function reached its crescendo with the Curtain Call. All participating students and teachers gathered on stage for a final, unified message. With banners and hearts full of resolve, the entire school community stood together to chant the slogan: “No Plastic, No Pollution.”
The “Disney Warriors” Annual Function was not just a display of talent, but a successful crusade to inspire everyone to protect our environment for generations to come.
