“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
PP Savani Cambridge International School organized an educational tour to the Eco Farm for students from Grade I to V on October 11, 2023. The primary aim of this excursion was to create awareness among young students about the ill-treatment of animals in urban settings and to educate them about the importance of ethical and compassionate treatment of animals.
The educational tour to the Eco Farm facilitated a lot of learning and they are:
- Rescued Animals: Students were introduced to a diverse array of animals who had been rescued from the streets of the city. These animals, including monkeys, dogs, cats, goats, sheep, turtles, iguanas, hens, ducks, parrots, pigeons, camels, and cows, had been provided with necessary medical services and a safe haven at the Eco Farm.
- Close Interaction: The children had the opportunity to interact with the animals, feed them, and learn about their individual stories. This personal interaction helped the students develop a deeper sense of compassion and understanding towards these animals.
- Animal Welfare Discussion: During the visit, there were discussions and educational sessions about the various forms of abuse and neglect that animals face in urban environments. Students learned about the need for responsible pet ownership and the ethical treatment of animals.
- Migratory Birds: Students were also fortunate to observe various migratory birds, further emphasizing the importance of preserving natural habitats for wildlife.
The educational tour had several positive outcomes as it increased awareness of the challenges faced by animals in urban environments and enhanced empathy and compassion towards rescued animals. It also created a better understanding of the variety of animals and birds that are found in the city along with a commitment of treating animals with kindness and respect.
This experience serves as a crucial step in fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy among students, encouraging them to make more ethical and humane choices in their interactions with animals. PP Savani Cambridge International School remains dedicated to instilling such values in its students for a more holistic growth and humane future.
