REPORT ON FIRE SAFETY DRILL
On the 6th of July, 2024, PPSCIS had the privilege of hosting a fire safety drill conducted by fire safety officials. The event aimed to educate both teachers and students on fire safety measures and equip them with practical knowledge on how to handle fire emergencies effectively.
Demonstration of Fire Safety Measures
The officials began with an informative session explaining the different types of fires and appropriate extinguishers to use for each type. They highlighted the importance of knowing the locations of fire extinguishers and how to operate them correctly.
Hands-On Demonstration
One of the key components of the event was the hands-on demonstration. Fire safety officials demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers. Teachers and students were then given the opportunity to practice using the extinguishers themselves. This interactive session was invaluable, as it provided everyone with practical experience and boosted their confidence in handling fire emergencies.
Mock Fire Drill
The event also included a mock fire drill. The officials guided everyone through the steps to be taken in the event of a fire. The drill emphasized the importance of remaining calm, following the evacuation plan, and assembling at designated safety points. Participants learned how to:
- Identify the nearest exit routes.
- Assist those who may need help during an evacuation.
- Avoid using elevators during a fire.
- Use the stop, drop, and roll technique if clothes catch fire.
The fire safety drill held on 6th July 2024 at PPSCIS campus was a significant success. The hands-on demonstrations and mock drill provided everyone with essential skills and knowledge to handle fire emergencies effectively. The event underscored the importance of fire safety and preparedness, ensuring that both teachers and students are better equipped to respond in the event of a fire.
