REPORT ON TRAINING SESSION ( ‘LET HIM NOT SINK’) AY 2024-25
Training session was conducted for teacher on the topic: ‘Let him not sink’ on 8th June 2024 by our Principal Ms. Anjali Varma and teacher Ms. Prasashya Choudhary.
The session aimed to address the crucial topic of mental health and well-being among students, highlighting the importance of recognizing and managing mental health issues to foster better academic performance and healthier social relationships.
The primary objective of the training session was to emphasize the importance of mental health among students. The session sought to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills to help students efficiently manage stress, anxiety, and depression. By addressing these mental health concerns, students can achieve better academic performance and improve their social connections and relationships with peers, family, and friends.
The session began with an introduction to the pressures of academic life, social expectations, and the challenges of transitioning to adulthood. These factors can significantly impact the mental health of students. Ms. Varma and Ms. Choudhary discussed various causes of mental health issues among students, including academic stress, social pressures, and personal challenges.
The session provided insights into identifying the traits and signs of mental health issues among students. Teachers were trained to recognize symptoms such as changes in behavior, mood swings, withdrawal from social interactions, and academic decline. Practical strategies for dealing with mental health issues in students were presented. This included creating a supportive classroom environment, promoting open communication, and encouraging healthy coping mechanisms. Teachers were guided on how to approach and support students showing signs of mental health struggles, emphasizing the importance of empathy and understanding.
It was emphasized that by managing stress, anxiety, and depression, students can achieve not only better academic results but also stronger social connections and relationships with their peers, family, and friends.
