The Wellspire Program Orientation was held on 13th April, 2024 and conducted by Mr. Munish Malhotra, Director, Co – Founder of ConsciousLeap Wellbeing Foundation, at P.P. Savani Cambridge International School. The session was engaging and interactive, focusing on emotional awareness and expression. The discussion began with a screening of a short film, depicting various characters experiencing different emotions. This was followed by questions about the characters and their emotions, encouraging participants to express their own emotions and reflect on the range of feelings they experience in a day. This exercise aimed to promote self-awareness and emotional literacy. Then emoticons were displayed, and participants were asked to identify the emotions they conveyed. This activity stimulated discussions on recognizing and understanding emotions in oneself and others.
A quick activity was also conducted to explore how individuals express their emotions in different ways and situations, illustrating the diverse ways people communicate feelings. The concepts of empathy and sympathy were introduced and discussed too, emphasizing the importance of understanding and connecting with others’ emotions and experiences. In the session, principles of writing journals were explored, highlighting the benefits of journaling for reflection, emotional processing, and personal growth. This led to the introduction of Wellspire Journal, showcasing various activities and prompts to support emotional well-being and self-reflection.
Students were also informed about the feedback form, to be filled and submitted post each class to assess the effectiveness and reception of the program. Overall, the Wellspire orientation session successfully promoted emotional awareness, empathy, and self-reflection among participants, setting a positive foundation for further personal development and growth for the year.
