Date: 21/06/2022 International Yoga Day
“Yoga adds years to your life and life to your years”
On June 21, International Yoga Day celebrates the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world stage. While it is an important source of exercise and healthy activity millions join in and practice on a daily basis. For many, these routines are a way to connect the body, mind and soul in a way that has existed for centuries.
For International Yoga Day, people around the world set out their yoga mats and started exercising, but they might not be aware that yoga goes back centuries.
Yoga is considered to be an ancient practice that originated 5,000 years ago in India. Yoga was developed as a way to interconnect the mind, body and soul to step closer into enlightenment. As the practice became popular in the west, it became popularized as an exercise and relaxation method, with claims to help the body’s general well-being, alleviate physical injuries and chronic pain.
Supporting our Prime Minister’s Vision of celebrating Yoga on an international level and bringing India to the forefront, PPSCIS celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2022. All the students and teachers took out their yoga mats and set themselves up for an energizing morning of Yoga. The session was conducted by Ms. Eshita Desai who is a well known Yoga instructor from the Art of Living community in Surat. The teachers and students enjoyed the session passionately which was clearly reflected in the happiness and enthusiasm on their faces.
Our beloved Principal Ms. Nisha Paryani emphasized the importance of Yoga in day to day life and urged students to practice it everyday rather than limiting it to one day celebration. She honored the guest of the day with a certificate and memento and thanked them for gracing us with her knowledge.
