We are delighted to announce the Javelin Throw Competition for students of Grades VI–XII. This competition offers an exciting opportunity for students to demonstrate their strength, technique, precision, and athletic ability while fostering sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Competition Details
Semi-Finals: Thursday, 6th August 2026
Finals: Friday, 7th August 2026
Time: 11:35 a.m. – 12:25 p.m.
Venue: Football Ground
Eligibility: Grades VI–XII
Equipment
For Boys
- Javelin Weight: 800 grams
- Javelin Length: 2.6–2.7 metres
For Girls
- Javelin Weight: 600 grams
- Javelin Length: 2.2–2.3 metres
Rules & Regulations
- The javelin must be held with one hand only.
- Participants must throw the javelin from behind the foul line and within the designated runway.
- The javelin must land within the 29-degree throwing sector.
- The throw must be made in a forward direction.
- A valid throw is counted only if the tip of the javelin touches the ground first.
- During the run-up or while throwing, participants must not touch or cross the foul line.
- Each participant must complete the throw within one minute.
- Participants must follow the instructions of the officials throughout the competition.
- The decision of the judges and event officials shall be final and binding.
This competition is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their athletic skills while developing confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. We encourage all eligible students to participate enthusiastically.
